The SHOWDOWN consortium convened online on 08.11.2023!
We’re thrilled to kick off the SHOWDOWN project aiming to foster health-enhancing physical activities for individuals with visual impairments, fostering improved health and social connections within their communities. Our focus is on the inclusive Showdown game, a sport welcoming everyone, irrespective of age, gender, or ability.
As part of our project, we’re creating a guide on organizing safe and inclusive Showdown activities for individuals with and without visual impairments. Starting with identifying their needs in sports participation, gathering best practices, and training partner organizations on inclusive Showdown games for diverse groups. Safety remains paramount; thus, our staff will receive specialized first aid training for the specific needs of visually impaired individuals.
SHOWDOWN is co-funded by the EU’s #ErasmusPlus Programme and will be implemented by a collaborative consortium spanning Bulgaria, Greece, Cyprus, and Spain. Let’s empower inclusion and fitness together!
