This guide is a key outcome of the SHOWDOWN project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme. It serves as a practical resource for organizing safe and inclusive Showdown activities, with a focus on engaging individuals with visual impairments.
Despite the many benefits of sports—physical, mental, and social—people with disabilities often face barriers such as inaccessible facilities, limited opportunities, and lack of inclusive practices. The SHOWDOWN project addresses these challenges by promoting Showdown, a sport that welcomes all genders, ages, and abilities, and is especially suitable for those with visual impairments.
The guide offers best practices and protocols for coaches, organizations, and volunteers to ensure that Showdown is accessible, enjoyable, and inclusive for everyone.
